Install of the Month: Epoxy Tech Houston’s Auto Mechanic Shop Transformation

We’re proud to announce that Epoxy Tech Houston won our September Install of the Month competition for their exceptional work at an auto mechanic shop. Using four expertly applied coats of our most favored epoxies, they delivered a thick, durable, and chemical-resistant floor that’s perfect for high-traffic areas.

Here’s how they achieved it:

1. Two Coats of Clear HyperBOND: They began with two coats of HyperBOND, our 100% solids, water-insensitive epoxy that bonds perfectly even on damp concrete. This laid the foundation for a seamless, durable floor with excellent adhesion and resistance.

2. Full Silica Broadcast: To add grip and texture, a full broadcast of silica was applied across the floor. This layer ensures safety and durability, perfect for a busy mechanic shop.

3. Third Coat: Pigmented HyperBOND (Ford Blue): For the third coat, they pigmented HyperBOND in Ford Blue, adding thickness and a bold, vibrant look.

4. Final Coat: Pigmented DT-454 (Ford Blue): The final layer used DT-454, a fast-curing, 100% solids epoxy. Pigmented in Ford Blue, this coat created a smooth, high-gloss finish with excellent chemical resistance, ensuring the floor will stand up to daily wear.

Thanks to the strength of HyperBOND and DT-454, this floor is now thick, chemical-resistant, and built for heavy traffic, all while looking sleek and professional. Congratulations to Epoxy Tech Houston for another outstanding installation!
